• Since its formation in the 1976, the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Genitourinary group has completed six phase III trails and six phase II trials in prostate cancer. Although these studies did not have a very strong influence on the management of prostate cancer worldwide or even in Europe, they did help investigators to design better studies and to gain some insight into the natural disease of the tumor.
