Abstract

  • Laparoscopy is the latest addition to the urologist's endoscopic skills. The increasing interest in the application of laparoscopy to urologic procedures has been reflected in the prevalence of reports in the urologic literature in recent years. However, there remains considerable debate as to the ultimate clinical applicability and appropriateness of these procedures in the management of patients. Laparascopic urology is still in its infancy of development. The impact of technological advances and innovative practitioners may culminate in laparoscopic surgery being the catalyst to the development of a surgical cure devoid of incisional morbidity.
